The PCS Fine Arts Department provides students with the opportunity to explore the performing arts of instrumental music, vocal music, worship team, and theater, as well as the visual arts.
The following co-curricular opportunities are made available to PCS students:
Band is offered as a class, offered all year long, and includes evening concerts, personal practice time, typically the rental or purchase of an instrument, the purchase of minimal music books and instrument accessories, and mandatory pep band participation (for 7-12). Students receive a grade and credit. There is a dress code for performances. Students are encouraged to take private lessons – either by the band instructor after school, or by a private teacher. Bands are divided by grade levels: 5th, 6th, 7th - 8th, and 9th - 12th
The Jazz Ensemble is offered all year long. Students receive a ½ credit for involvement. Class meets at 7:15 am every Tuesday and Wednesday and every other Monday am. The Jazz Ensemble will perform at PCS Fine Arts concerts and could be invited to play for other special events. There is a dress code for performances. Questions should be directed to the band instructor.
Choir is offered as a class all year long and includes evening concerts and can include an occasional daytime performance. Students receive a grade and credit. There is a dress code for choir performances.

The auditions for PCS Singers are in early September. Being a part of PCS Singers is a school year commitment. Rehearsals are 1 day a week before school. PCS Singers perform at the Fine Arts concerts and several special off-site events. See choir instructor for details.
Chapel teams lead worship for the 7th-12th grade weekly chapels. Their are several teams. The team leading worship for the week rehearses the morning of chapel. The Chapel teams include instrumentalists, vocalists, and technology assistance. See the Sr High Chapel Coordinator for details.
The One Act season is from December through January, with the competition at the end of January and early February. Rehearsals are one or two days a week after school. Students compete in sub-section, section, and state tournaments hosted by the MSHSL. The fee to participate is $75.00 per student. Contact the school office for information. All students, K-6th grade, have Art class every other week. In 7-12th grade students can choose to take Art as an elective. Ceramics is also offered to 9th-12th grades. Students receive a grade and credit.
Open to all 7th-12th graders interested in art. The club meets once a week after school for the purpose of art exploration. Contact the Art Teacher with questions. The club is on a hiatus for the 2021-2022 school year, intending to return for 2022-2023.
