Park Christian School was prayerfully created in 1981 with kindergarten through eighth grade programming, when Central Christian School, founded by Fargo First Assembly, merged with Daystar School and Bethel Evangelical Free Church. By 1985, enrollment had doubled and the school purchased the current building in north Moorhead.
Over the next 12 years, classrooms were finished throughout the building to accommodate increasing enrollment. In the spring of 1998, new construction was begun. This helped to provide space for our first high school class of ninth grade students, including a gymnasium. That same year, a second campus in south Fargo at Bethel Church was begun. This campus provided space for kindergarten through 3rd grade.
As Park Christian School continued to expand, the need for additional space continued to grow as well. The commons, office space, four new classrooms, fine arts room, locker rooms and a weight room were added, as well as a game field and practice fields for football.
In 2018-19, a $5.3 M expansion and renovation project was completed, adding a new Commons/Entrance and K-3 wing, and renovating the rest of the building with energy efficiencies, state of the art STEM labs, expanded art/ceramics room, new lighting and flooring throughout, and sidewalks and concrete and landscaping.
In 2021, Park Christian School is home to 521 students in grades K – 12 at the Moorhead Campus. Park Christian School is a ministry where lives have been changed from the inside out. We cannot share the story of Park Christian School without acknowledging the unwavering hand of direction and blessings from God.
