Mr. Appel received his bachelor’s degree from Minnesota State University, Moorhead and a Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction from St. Thomas University. He has been teaching for 40 years, the past 32 years teaching grades 2 and 3 for Moorhead Public Schools.

What do you like to do in your spare time? Cycle, do bike repair and garden.

Why did you choose the teaching profession? My high school teachers inspired me to choose a profession that involved helping others.

Why do you feel called into Christian education? For the many opportunities to encourage young folks to seek and serve God.

The best part about following Jesus is...resting in God’s grace.
